Painting and design work done by Kempthorne Painters, on the Time Out Corner.
Located 3003 Anderson Ave Suite 909  just east of Valentino's Pizza.
This home belongs to Wally Salonka, the left picture is showing the house as he bought it. On
the right after Wally completed the exterior. Great Job!
This home belongs to Mike Walsh of Wamego. This view of the siding was after one year of
exposure to the Kansas sun, facing to the west. The pictured product had to be applied every
year. Notice how good it looks at the top of the wall where the overhang kept the sun off? This
is a bit of a horror story - you can look at the pail and see it claims to be a "Premium" product
in Kansas that isn't so. If you have questions on what product to use, if you should paint or
stain, or even if the conditions are right - call us so we can keep you from having a nightmare
to deal with!
Thanks to Lori at the Morning Star Bed and Breakfast 617 Houston St in Manhattan for these pictures. The walls are
done in Porter Paints Silken Touch, durable and easy to clean even in a commercial grade kitchen!
Common Paint Problems

This home is suffering a common issue - Masonite siding that was not primed before painting.
Wax in the siding melts on the side of the house getting direct sun and bleeds through the paint.
The wax is a food source for mildew. This discoloration is very pronounced in these pictures.

This can be prevented and repaired easily - scrub with TSP and Bleach solution. Never mix a
bleach with an ammonia cleaner! Rinse your surface and prime with Porter 515 Acrylic Boning
Primer, then apply two coats of your favorite finish.
Daich SpreadRock is very easy and fun to apply. You get a
granite tough finish for your floor, counter top or shower. We
put this up in our loft and run the pallet jack with a ton of
paint on it across it all the time - durable and easy!
